What does Conference Power measure?
Power is a 0–100 comparison of conference strength, combining member-team ratings and results against other FBS conferences. Average FPI is the mean team-strength rating across members; Median FPI is the middle team, less influenced by a few dominant programs. FBS nonconf. counts completed games against other FBS conferences only. Ranked counts current Top 25 members.
V1 begins with 50% team strength, 30% FBS nonconference results, 10% ranked-team share, and 10% opponent quality. Before a conference has 10 completed FBS nonconference games, unused results weight shifts to team strength. FCS games and future games are excluded. Missing FPI is never treated as zero.
